The profiling process is defined by the FBI as an investigative technique by which to identify the major, personality and behavioral characteristics of the offender based upon an analysis of the crime(s) he or she has committed.

Crime Reconstruction

A reconstruction of the actions and events surrounding the commission of a crime. It is accomplished by a scientific examination and interpretation of all physical evidence and related testing. These results are then compared to witness statements, suspect statements, and victim statements.

Investigations
